Let me tell you a story of two families…
One family did everything perfectly. They bought perfectly matching outfits that were perfectly in style. They sat perfectly straight while smiling perfectly for the camera. And today, their images look perfectly nice hanging in their perfect home.
Family number two, on the other hand…well. Things went a little differently. They let Jack wear his favorite shirt, and they let Chloe bring her lovey. They both struggled to sit still (ya know, like most kids!), so Dad chased them and covered them in tickles and kisses when he caught them. Mom laughed until she cried, surrounded by the imperfect, familiar chaos of home. Meanwhile, my camera clicked. This is what a real family photography session looks like with me.

I’m Megan, and I believe
real magic’s in the mess.
As a busy mom, I know finding time to step in front of the camera is about as impossible as finding time to read that book your best friend lent you two months ago! That’s why, when I get to, I want those photos to really, really count.
As a Minneapolis newborn and family photographer, I’m drawn to moments that go far beyond the picture-perfect pose. I’ve photographed hundreds of Minneapolis families over the past 16 years, and I’ve learned that the moments people treasure most are never the perfectly posed ones. I want to look back on them three decades, two moves, and countless adventures later and feel like I’m stepping right back in time. I want to yell, “oh my gosh, that look is so Jack,” or “remember when Theodore was obsessed with frogs.”
I want photos that feel as uniquely “us” as the fingerprints slowly coating the pages of our family albums -photos taken in the heart of your home, full of color, movement, and love.
