A fun family photography skating party with the Steinkamps

Winter has officially arrived in Minnesota, so what better way to spend it then with a family photography session in a backyard rink?! The Steinkamp Family lives for getting outside and loves all things hockey, so it was a natural fit for me to do this family photography session in their backyard hockey rink. It couldn’t have been more perfect with the snow lightly falling, the laughter from the slips and trips on the ice – and not to forget the incredible goals made in the net.

I’ve been lucky enough to count the Steinkamps as another family that I’ve had the joy of photographing for a number of years. With families that see me every year, it’s important for me to capture who they are in this moment of life. I find that there is always something new and exciting to focus on during a family photography session!

Living in the bold north means we enjoy the snow and cold (at least until February!), so lets embrace it! If skating isn’t your jam, I have lots of ideas of places we could check out including the winter wonderland vibes of Arneson Acres and the gorgeous Hidden Falls.
